Professional Development

Cynthia Floyd is available for workshops, webinars, presentations, keynotes, and other speaking engagements. Professional development may last from one hour to full-day sessions. Cynthia is also available to be contracted for more extensive professional development accompanied with consultation for districts or schools desiring more long-term professional support.

Below is a list of topics currently available. School districts can also request for topics to be individualized to their schools and districts/public school units (PSUs)/local education agencies (LEAs) with sufficient notice for development. If you do not see your topic of interest, please inquire at cynthia.floyd.consultant@gmail.com as it may be included within a listed topic and could be offered separately or it might be a professional development option that is still in development.

Certificates of participation can be made available; however, individual school districts determine continuing education credits.

  • 6-hour training on effective implementation of comprehensive school counseling best practices from the ASCA National Model and the NC Professional School Counselor Standards & Evaluation along with how to translate implementation and documentation into an NC School Counseling Diamond Award application and ASCA RAMP!

Taking Care of the Person in the Mirror

  • 2-hour training on the importance of finding time for adult self-care that is crucial for our overall wellbeing and resilience and in modeling skills for students. Includes quick, easy strategies for self-care and de-stressing, how to assess where you are with self-care, and how to create your own personalized self-care plan. Information learned can be adapted for application with students.

  • 1-hour conference session is a shorter overview session of the 2-hour version, inclusive of sharing some quick, easy strategies for self-care and de-stressing, the self- assessment tool, and how to create your own personalized self-care plan.
